Coaching for Creatives

My creativity manifesto 📣

“Creativity is thinking outside the box we are assigned. It is the act of imagining a different future, solution, or way of being.”

Why I coach creatives

Me in my studio.

I worked as a social change agent and project manager for 20 years before becoming a creative entrepreneur.

During that time, I crafted sustainability plans, wrote policies that protected the environment and advanced equity (DEI), and built teams to lead implementation of this good work inside large organizations.

In my primary role was as a project manager, I developed a passion for what I now call creative project planning. I got really good at helping teams identify their goal, figure out how to get there, and craft plans to make it happen.

I learned that good planning requires a lot of creativity and imagination. To do it well, we need to imagine a different future, then work backwards to identify all the steps necessary to get there.

I am convinced that creativity is also required for imagining a more just and equitable world.  When we reimagine life as more easeful, more prosperous, more just - for ourselves and for others - we are engaging in the act of creativity.

I am sharing this vision with you because the world needs our creative vision, and that requires a little planning.

How it works

I have condensed my experience as a project manager and creative illustrator into a free guide to get you started.

Here are my key tips for planning a creative project for success.

  • A person's hand holds a pen as they write notes with a cu of coffee.

    Values and goals

What do you want to create, and how? What drives you and your creative work? The importance of getting clear on your values and goal for your creative project can’t be overstated — even for seasoned artists and creatives.

  • A hand points to a wall covered in sticky notes during a project planning brainstorm.

    Identify tasks

Avoid drowning yourself in unnecessary tasks! I'll guide you through the process of identifying what you really need to do for your creative idea to be successful... and what you can set aside.

  • A laptop and notebook await a planner on a desk.

    Make a plan

Even creative projects benefit from having a plan. In this phase, we'll break down your work plan into manageable chunks, and create a doable timeline. You can feel good about how you’ll be spending your creative time.

  • A hand holds a bundle of paintbrushes as if it were a magic wand.

    Implementation

Implementation strategies vary from person to person, so we’ll identify one that is a good fit for your and your day-to-day life. We’ll incorporate flexibility so that you can practice self-compassion while you work toward your creative goal.

Let’s get that idea out of your head and into the world.

I understand the importance of asking for help, while at the same time respecting your unique creative process.

As a creative artist myself, I understand that my strengths are amplified by others who compliment my skills. I will do my best to work behind the scenes to amplify your creative voice.

As your creative project planning coach, I will help you structure your creative project to ensure that you can finish it and give it to the world.
