Class Description Are your curious about how you can add lettering to your artwork? Learn the art of modern calligraphy with Molly Chidsey of Lady Fern Graphics. In this intro-level course, you will learn:

Week 1:

• What modern calligraphy is and how is it different from handwriting

• How to use a brush pen and a paintbrush to make calligraphy lettering

• The eight essential shapes that make up the calligraphy alphabet

Week 2:

• How to form letters from the eight essential shapes from week 1

• How to form words

• Overview of how to do layout for final project

Week 3:

·        Work on final project: a layout of your favorite quote in modern calligraphy

·        You’ll have time to complete this in class
