Pacific Ninebark botanical illustration print
I sketched this Pacific Ninebark from a branch on a large shrub in my Portland backyard. I planted this Oregon native shrub about a decade ago, and now it commands a lush corner of the yard, under a giant 200+ year old Oregon White Oak tree. I love the flatness of these leaves, which shimmy and twist on their stems in the breeze.
From my new collection of eight hand-drawn and painted botanical illustrations. I created these illustrations in my sketchbook while on hikes around Oregon and walks in my Portland garden. I included each plant’s common and scientific name, hand-lettered in modern calligraphy.
